Gunter joined the National Aeronautics and Space Administration at the
Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX., which is responsible for all manned space
flight activities. There he worked on Apollo Guidance Programs, Apollo
Command Module Software management and flight control during lunar landings.
He was head of the Shuttle Systems Software Design section, worked on the remote
manipulator arm and did Astronaut training. During his last Years he was
manager of the Computer Graphics Laboratory where he worked on state of
the arts graphics designs and a conception of a manned landing on Moon and Mars
projected for the year of 2019, 50 years after the original landing on the moon.
